Fluorinated MOF-808 with various modulators to fabricate high-performance hybrid membranes with enhanced hydrophobicity for organic-organic pervaporation

چکیده

Highly efficient PDMS based membranes with a new type of fluorinated MOF-808 were successfully prepared and used for the first time in pervaporation (PV). Two types ligands i.e. trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) pentafluoropropionic (PFPA) during MOF synthesis. These slightly different size chemical character influenced material properties membranes, roughness, contact angle, surface free energy, thermal features. Incorporation MOFs enhanced membrane hydrophobicity performance organic-organic PV separation industrially important mixtures like, ethyl acetate-EtAc tert-butyl ether-ETBE. The filled possessed much better transport features than pristine PDMS. Substantial improvement modified 5 wt% (normalized Pervaporation Separation Index – PSIN = 1540 µm kg m?2 h?1) was observed relation to (PSIN 780 commercial Pervap™4060 150 m?2h?1), ETBE/EtOH. An added value study impact water traces (in range 0.1–0.3 wt%) feed on performance. level permeate dependent composition, loading, since presence hydrophobic restricted side.

The Isolation of Organic Compounds using Organophilic Pervaporation Membranes

Organophilic membranes provide a method of recovering organic compounds by pervaporation, which exploits the selective transport of the organic phase. The main application is in the extraction of bio-alcohols from aqueous solution. The effect of membrane composition on performance in transporting alcohols and not water at improved rates is the focus of this review. In th...

Ceramic-supported polymer membranes for pervaporation of binary organic/organic mixtures

Asymmetric tubular alumina-supported poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) membranes were created and characterized by pervaporation separation of binary mixtures of methanol and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE). The active separation layer was created by free-radical graft polymerization of PVAc and PVP onto a vinylsilane-modified alumina substrate with an average native p...

Interior Modification of Nano-Porous Fillers to Fabricate High Performance Mixed Matrix Membranes

A new method is developed to enhance the gas separation properties of mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) by interior modification of an inorganic nano-porous particle. Ship-in-a-bottle (SIB), as a novel synthesis strategy, is considered to encapsulate a polyaza macrocyclic Ag-ligand complex into the zeolite Y, which is resulted in a new host-guest nano-composite. It is consequently incorporated into...

Improved ethanol recovery through mixed-matrix membrane with hydrophobic MAF-6 as filler

Increasing the hydrophobicity of membrane was believed as an effective approach to enhance the performance of organophilic pervaporation (PV) membrane. In this work, the superhydrophobic alkyl group modificated metal organic framework (MOF) of RHO-[Zn(eim)2] (MAF-6) was incorporated into polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) polymer to fabricate mixed matrix membranes (MMMs). The morphologies, physical a...
